"Sharon Hensel Cohen has worked with me on one of the largest special education cases in the nation. Obviously, she is a consummate professional, but I also believe that she is a miracle worker! She works with individuals with speech and language challenges like there is no tomorrow! Many individuals are living extraordinary lives as a direct result of Sharon's passion, talent, skills and interventions."

"Sharon is wonderful, smart, wealth of knowledge, a big part of our family and we could not go through this journey with Autism without her."

"When I came to Sharon, my daughter was older, about 16, and we had been through a myriad of speech therapists during the years. I was at wit's end trying to get my daughter to quiet her echolalia and stop her "trigger" words (ones that made her yell out loud no matter where we were). I hadn't received much help in this area, even though so many had tried, but I was told that Sharon could work miracles. They were right! My daughter is much quieter now and we can say anything around her and not expect her to go into her repetitive yelling. She is speaking in better full sentences now and can be understood by many more people. My daughter came to Sharon very late, and you would be lucky to receive her help at an early stage. I have seen the children before and after us make incredible progress. She is terrific in her field. "

"I met Sharon After my wife, Doris's stroke 17 years ago. Doris had been discharged from speech therapy because it was felt she would 'no longer progress' and had to live with her aphasia, apraxia and dysnomia. Working privately with Sharon over a few months, my wife progressed to 90% return to pre-stoke communication. Eight years ago Sharon began facilitating a Stroke Activity Group through the Stroke Association of Southern California. This group has serviced innumerable stroke survivors and their significant others in this caring program under Sharon's leadership. Sharon is an amazing caring therapist, leader, human being, and, true miracle worker."

"Before Jack started seeing Sharon he had a significant speech delay and behavioral problems related to his inability to communicate. He could not answer simple questions and he only used one word sentences. It was horrible to not be able to talk to my son. Now a year later the change is remarkable. Jack has frequent spontaneous language and can carry on a conversation. His relationships with peers have grown because he has language now. Sharon gave my son a voice and opened up his world."
Jennifer, Jack's mom
"Although I prefer to remain anonymous, Sharon was instrumental to my successful TV role by growing my vocal intonation and reducing my accent."

"Our whole world changed when we met Sharon! Our son Max has a diagnosis of Autism and was for the most part, a non-verbal child when we started services with Sharon. Within 6 months we started noticing spontaneous speech. Not only that, he was actually ASKING for Sharon!! What a tremendous gift that is! On a personal note, I was dealing with major health issues and Sharon stepped up and helped me and my family in ways that I cannot begin to say thank you for! She not only connects with children, she truly CARES for them and their families.

"Our 8-year-old son, Dillan, has been working with Sharon for almost 2 years now. He has autism, has been primarily non-verbal, has severe motor planning issues/apraxia and also struggles with word-retrieval difficulties. I first heard Sharon speak at a local support group, and when she began to discuss the importance of literacy with regards to a child like Dillan, I knew that I wanted him to see her. Dillan has made very encouraging strides over the past 2 years, including increased and more intelligible verbalizations, sometimes combining 2-3 words, increased yes/no reliability, greater attention to language, recognition of all upper and lower case letters of the alphabet and now theability to identify most letters phonetically, and he is able to spell words during his sessions by pointing to letters on a QWERTY board. Sharon has given us concrete strategies to implement at home to help Dillan become a verbal communicator. As Dillan's apraxia and word retrieval difficulties may not allow him to articulate all of his thoughts and feelings, we also continue to work hard to build his literacy skills so that he can communicate through writing.Sharon has also collaborated with his classroom teacher and behaviorist toensure that expectations are consistent across the home and school environments. We feel very encouraged by the progress that Dillan has made, and are very grateful to Sharon for believing in him and in us, and for validating our belief that Dillan is smart and capable."
Tami Barmache, Dillan's Mom
"Sharon is my colleague, my friend and my professional partner. I trust her in each of these roles and know that her heart always carries the children and the families she works so hard to help."
Siggie Cohen, Child Develop Specialist, Parentwood
"Sharon has really stuck with my daughter and given her the intensive therapy for her Autism that she seems to need. I don't know where we would be without her."

"Devlin and I participate in speech therapy together with Sharon. She is our facilitator and teaches our entire family how to get the best out of Devlin in regard to his communication. Since she teaches me the skills I need through mentoring, Devlin and I work on "talking" all week long. This allows us to integrate what Sharon works on into our lives in an attempt to get Devlin to integrate it into his as well. This method has allowed Devlin to grow towards successful and appropriate language and social skills. Now Devlin can even have a conversation on the telephone! Sharon helps us understand our child's potential and shows us the way towards successful communication. This family approach has been invaluable for us and for Devlin."
Arden, Devlin's Mom
"With recurrent vocal nodules and chronic laryngitis my job efficiency was reduced. Sharon helped me learn how to improve vocal patterns, reduce vocal abuse and eliminate the nodules."
